Charles Franklin Deshler ’34

Body

FRANK DESHLER, known in undergraduate days as Ditch or Desh, died Jan. 17, 1993, it has just been learned, of congestive heart failure, at Halifax Medical Center in Daytona Beach, Fla. He had lived in Florida since his retirement in 1983.

For many years, Frank was personal accountant for John Hay (Jock) Whitney, in New York, and assistant treasurer of the John Hay Whitney Foundation. He left college in junior year and worked for the first few years in real estate. In the late '50s, when he was living in Scarsdale, N.Y., he served as regional chairman for Annual Giving.

Frank was married on Dec. 9, 1941, to the former Nancy Montgomery, a member of the Class of'41 at Miss Hall's School in Massachusetts.

Besides Nancy, who lives in Ormond Beach, Fla., and summers in Annisquam, Mass., Frank is survived by their four daughters, Susan Craig, Lydia Stang, Virginia Waterbury, and Jane Ann Bode; and four grandchildren. To them we offer our sincere sympathies.
