Charles H. Baird ’21

Body

CUBBY BAIRD DIED in his sleep at a nursing home in Flourtown, Penn., Dec. 20, 1993, at the age of 93. He was born in Chelsea, N.J. Even though he was only with us for a couple of years, he was a true Princetonian, with ancestors who were at Princeton in the 1760s; and his father, William J. Beard 1895 and his son, Matthew '87 (the last class baby).

Cabby's career was in the financial field. He was an analyst with Coffin, Betz & Co. and Fahnstock & Co. and wrote market letters for both firms.

He was a member of many clubs and organizations, including many years as president of the Watch Hill Chapel Society in Watch Hill, R.I., of which he was a trustee emeritus at the time of his death.

He was a widower and is survived by two daughters, Virginia B. Hundley and Edith B. Eglin; a son, Matthew '87; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. To them all, the class extends sincere sympathy.
