RETIRED CHEMICAL CONSULTANT Charlie Kline died at his Kinnelon, NJ., home Apr. 23, 1992. Originally from Pittsfield, Mass., Charlie earned a Princeton chemistry degree and a Ph.D.; then its was three years naval service followed by positions with General Electrc, Climax Molybdenum, and Shulton, Inc.
In 1959 Charlie launched his Fairfield, NJ.based C.H. Kline & Co.international and marketing chemical consultants that was to become one of the world's largest in its specialized field. He sold the firm in 1986 and went on to establish PanGraphion, Inc., to serve management in the chemical industries. Charlie authored more than 70 articles and books on technical and marketing matters and was a recipient of the Chemical Marketing Research Assn. Memorial Award for outstanding contributions to the chemical industry. "He was a completely knowledgeable, honorable, and versatile man," stated the founding editor of CHEMICAL WEEK.
Charlie was a skilled and keen sportsman and a worldwide traveler, and he enjoyed cards and bridge. He is survived by his widow, Emily; three sons, Philip, John, and Thomas; a daughter, Caroline Sassone; and seven grandchildren; to all of whom the Class extends its deepest sympathy. Charlie's successful career certainly fulfilled his specialized Princeton education and training, and more importantly, remitted valuable benefits to a broad spectrum of world citizenry.
