JOHN VERMILYE DIED Dec. 5, 1993. Since 1957, he had lived in Bethesda, Md.

John came to Princeton from Taft in the fall of 1941. He excelled in athletics, in football, basketball, and baseball, playing on each of the varsity teams at Taft. At Princeton, he was a member of Charter Club, but he left to serve with the Ninth Army in combat in Germany.

John married Corinna Devendorf (the sister of Andres '47) in 1946. Thereafter, John moved to his residence in Bethesda and became manager of the Washington office of U.S. Steel. They had two children, Charles J. and Janine Smith, and a granddaughter.

John recently remarried and is survived, in addition to his children and granddaughter, by his widow, Marilyn Moore. The sympathy of the class is extended to all.
