CHARLIE HOOD DIED at home July 26, 1994, after a brief battle with cancer. He was 70.

Charlie joined us in 1945 from Cook Academy in Montour Falls, N.Y., after four terms at the Univ. of Michigan. He was a gunnery officer and instructor in the army air corps and graduated in 1947 with a B.S.E. in electrical engineering.

Charlie's professional career included stints at General Electric and at Research-Cottrell. He retired from American Steel Foundries in 1988. He received numerous patents throughout his career.

Charlie took up flying late in life and was especially proud of receiving his pilot's license at age 68. He was active in Deerfield, Ill., civic affairs and the Presbyterian Church.

Charlie is survived by Joan, his wife of 48 years; daughters Patricia and Valerie; and son Robert. The class extends its deepest sympathy to his family,
