CHARLIE DIED at his home in Naples, Fla., on Aug. 16, 1992, after a long illness. Born in Bryn Mawr, Penn., Charlie joined the Class from Pomfret, played freshman football and also participated in wrestling and Theatre Intime. Bright and gregarious, he had an exuberance that not only won him many friends but also attracted the attention of the administration. Leaving college during sophomore year, he served in the Army as a sergeant at Fort Benning and he finished college in 1953, at Haverford, graduating with high honors in English. The next 14 years Charlie spent in Philadelphia, Chicago, and Boston, in advertising. His work involved him with such popular television shows as the STEVE ALLEN TONIGHT SHOW and NAKED CITY.

He left advertising and eventually received a master's degree in clinical psychology from Pepperdine Univ., and a Ph.D. from Columbia Pacific Univ. Returning to the East Coast, he worked as a clinical psychologist, first in North Carolina and later in Maine. Eventually his Naples winter residence became his permanent home.

Charlie leaves his widow, Helen Stone Robinson; two sisters, Susan Meade and Pamela Nichols; a brother Wiliam; and several nieces and nephews, To all of them, the Class extends its most profound sympathy.
