Charles T. Wilder ’29

Body

Charles Townsend "Towney" Wilder died Oct. 11, 1994. He prepared at Cheyenne Mountain School in Colorado Springs. At Princeton, his roommates were Ben Shoemaker and Rog Thurber. He belonged to Cloister Inn. He became famous as a book collector and bookseller, and was a leader in that field in Denver, specializing in ancient history and the history of art.

In 1942, he married Eunice Tate, and the same year enlisted in the Army, serving until 1945. There are no immediate survivors. It is typical of Towney that he left word that a memorial to him could be made by "purchase of a book at your local bookshop."
