Body

CHARLEY PRICE, highly respected lawyer throughout Maryland, died Jan. 11, 1992, in Frederick. He was a member of Cloister Inn, majored in history, and belonged to the Press Club.

He earned his LL.B. at Harvard Law School, where he was a member of the Legal Aid Bureau. Classmates say that rather than attend classes, lie borrowed their notes and, after sleepless nights spent mastering the course material, surpassed the notetakers. lie then served four years in the infantry, in the provost general's office, and in the Army Air Force. in 1946 he returned to his home town of Frederick to practice law.

Charley had the capacity to run an active law practice and simultaneously take on every civic job he was asked to do, serving the Bar Assn., Chamber of Commerce Red Cross, Y.M.C.A., Board of Zoning Appeals, Rotary and American Legion, to name a few. fie was keen, cheerful, unique, with a chuckle his friends will not forget.

In 1969 he married the delightful Shirlee Schuettinger. She encouraged travel, giving classmates opportunities to see him, which otherwise we might have missed. She survives, as do her three children, who loved him dearly, as did his classmates.
