Christopher S. Carver ’52

Chris died Sept. 7, 2011.
His father, Alexander B., was a member of the Class of 1918. Chris came to us from Deerfield Academy. At Princeton he was a philosophy major, ate at Dial, and roomed with Mal Cleland. He sang with the Tigertones and supervised the production and sales of their 1950-51 album.
In 1958 he earned a degree from the Pratt Institute in industrial design and made his career in that field. He worked for General Electric and then started his own firm, Interactive Graphics. He was then president of Maritime in Wayne, Pa.
Chris is survived by his wife, Mary; and their nine children, Mary, Christopher, Alexander, Katerie, Cecilia, Colette, Joseph, Clare, and Michael.

8 Years AgoSkipper, toy-maker, tennis...
Skipper, toy-maker, tennis player and downhill shredder, how you loved to play! Tractor-driving igloo-creator, you were the best Santa a child could ever imagine. Your voice rang out Handel's Messiah each season. Your hands nurtured abundant gardens, painted landscapes, sheared sheep, and edited countless essays. You taught us to think and discern. Most of all, you called Mom your best friend. Ask any one of us, and we could tell stories all day of the countless ways Chris uniquely loved, inspired and nurtured each of us. What a Dad, truly.
We miss you, Pop.
