Clifford Harned Bundy ’35
CLIFF BUNDY, a loyal member of the Class of 1935, died Nov. 12, 1991, from a major infection. He had undergone cancer surgery the previous summer. He had suffered a stroke in 1981, which left him paralyzed and confined to a wheelchair. Cliff came to Princeton from the Prospect School in Brooklyn and majored in chemistry. He graduated with honors, and in 1942 he received an M.S. degree in chemistry from Brooklyn Polytechnic Institute.
After working with the Foster D. Snell Company and Ralph L. Evans Associates on chemical defense products during and after WWII, Cliff became one of the founders of Auromet Corporation, manufacturers of electroplating solutions of precious metal. He served as its president until he retired in 1975.
For the past 47 years, Cliff resided in Woodbridge, NJ., where he was a most active member of the First Congregational Church and the Woodbridge Historical Society. He also took great pride in maintaining the 1931 Pierce Arrow that carried him to and from Princeton in his student days. After his stroke in 1981, Cliff was a regular reunioner in his wheelchair, propelled by his daughters. His Saturday afternoon attendance enabled the Class to set an attendance record for 55th reunions.
Cliff is survived by his widow, the former Miriam E. Silliman, whom he married in 1952; his daughters Miriam '75 and Lynne; a sister Lynnette; and two grandchildren, Wally and Lynace. The Class extends its deepest sympathy to Cliffs family.
