Clifford Kinlock Thompson ’27

Body

CLIFF DIED on Mar. 5, 1990, after an illness, at his home in Hawthorne, NJ. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he spent most of his life in Ridgewood, NJ. There the high school prepared him for Princeton, where he majored in economics and won his letter on the lacrosse team.

Cliff was one of the fortunate and happy classmates who devoted most of their careers to one company. His was the American Home Products Corp., of which he became exec. V.P. During WWII he worked for a defense industry in Paterson, NJ. He retired from business in 1968, but was always ready and willing to give expert financial counsel to small companies.

For many years Ridgewood honored him as a community servant, especially as a devoted Sunday School teacher at the Unitarian church. In constant reading and study he prolonged his Princeton education.

We send our sympathy to his widow, Frances Patricia (Gage) Thompson; his children, Clifford Kinlock Thompson Jr. '50, Peter Gage Thompson, Patricia Ann Spreen, and Virginia Louise Tribles; his sister, Mrs. Grace Cunningham; and his nine grandchildren.
