Clinton A. Schofield ’31

CLINT DIED Dec. 4, 1992, in New Haven, Conn. He was born in Schenectady, and prepared at Princeton Preparatory School. He was on the Class football team, and was a member of Terrace Club. During his sophomore year, he roomed with Fred Gibney. Clint received a bachelor of fine arts degree from Yale in 1934, and began his architectural career in N.Y.C. He joined American Airlines in 1 942 and helped design the runways for Idlewild (now John E Kennedy) Airport. After WWII, he helped found the architectural firm of Schofield & Weed (Edwin A. Weed '31), where he worked until the early 1960s. He then went to work for Praeger, Kavanaugh & Waterbury. While with this Firm, he helped design Shea Stadium. He retired in 1970. He had been a member of the Princeton Club of New York and was a member of the Princeton Club of Sarasota. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Phyllis, and a daughter, Sally, from a previous marriage. Clint's was a familiar face at our reunions, and we will miss him.
