Clinton W. Winters ’82
The Class of 1982 remembers the warm and empathetic spirit of our dear friend Clint, who died Feb. 7, 2023.
He was born in Fort Campbell, Ky., and joined Princeton from the Groton School. He majored in sociology and played basketball, football, and lacrosse, representing Princeton in intercollegiate competition in the latter two.
A former commander and project officer in the Army, Clint earned an MBA at the University of Phoenix and worked as customer-care center manager for Total Wine. A lifelong resident of Burke, Va., he is remembered as an avid and frequent volunteer at Miriam’s Kitchen in Washington, D.C.
In the last few years of his life, Clint made a habit of reaching out to old friends to catch up and stay connected. He talked about the ephemeral nature of our lives, and the importance of expressing appreciation to those we care deeply about. May we all take his words to heart as a tribute to our beloved Clint.
He is survived by his wife, Theresa; daughter Brittany; and mother Minnie Winters-Greene. His brother Daryl predeceased him.
