Corning Pearson ’34

Body

CORNY PEARSON, our Class treasurer for 15 years, reunion reporter for a dozen years, principal booster of the '34 Barn from the beginning, and devoted classmate always, died Aug. 18, 1992, of a heart attack. An accountant by trade, he was associated, since 1941, with Lybrand, Ross Brothers & Montgomery (now Coopers & Lybrand) in Philadelphia. Earlier he worked at Chestnut Hill Academy as alumni secretary, assistant athletic director, and as he described it, "general handyman." A plaque in the school's main building honors Corny as past president of the alumni association, school treasurer, and "lifelong supporter of his school and his Community."

Corny is survived by his wife of 54 years, Marian (Nummy) Davis Pearson; a son, Corning Jr. ("C. P."); two daughters, Anne Manasec and Marian ("Mimi") Sharp~ five grandchildren; a brother, Oliver P.; and a sister, Olive P. Sheppard. To them we offer our sincere sympathies.
