Daniel died April 14, 2018, in Clifton, N.J.

He was born in Passaic, N.J., and came to Princeton after graduating from Passaic Senior High School. He majored in politics, writing his senior thesis on “A Study of the New Jersey Delegations to the 1952 Conventions.”

After graduating from Princeton he enrolled in the Columbia University Graduate School in political science and earned a master’s degree in 1956. After short-term employment with several corporations, Daniel settled into a 36-year career with J.P. Morgan Chase as a bond researcher. His interest in politics continued and took him to a number of national conventions. He also traveled extensively and visited all seven continents.
