Body

DAVID RUBIDGE DIED Dec. 5, 1993, at his home at Meadow Lakes, a lifecare community near Princeton where he and Nadine enjoyed 12 years, until her death a year ago.

At Princeton, Dave rowed freshman crew and was a member of Arbor Inn. Upon graduation, he took job with G.E. After seven years, during which time he married Nadine Henry and had two children, he joined I.B.M. in N.Y.C., and moved to Chatham, N.J., where he and Nadine were prominent in community affairs. At I.B.M., Dave was instrumental in the development of new products. Ultimately director of patent engineering, he is remembered by an associate as "the expert" in expanding the application and efficiency of the big machines.

At the Lime of his retirement in 1971, he was working in Armonk at the new headquarters and living in Chappaqua. Dave continued to work on inventions and helped to install improved phone and sound systems at Meadow Lakes, where he served on the board for several years.

Dave is survived by a son, Bruce '53, and a daughter Meredyth Armitage (Smith '54). To them, and to six grandchildren and two great grandchildren, we extend our deep sympathy on the death of a caring, Outstanding parent.
