Donald B. Gordon ’79

Body

DON GORDON, 34, died Jan. 27, 1992. Born and raised in Houston, Don was valedictorian at James Madison High School. Don lived at Princeton Inn College his freshman year, where he made many wonderful friends. During his years at Princeton, Don worked in the reserve room of Firestone Library, served as an Orange Key Guide, and was a member of Cloister Inn. He graduated summa cum laude in English and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa.

After graduation, Don worked for five years as an account executive for Ogilvy & Mather in Houston. He then started his own advertising firm and became a highly respected member of Houston's advertising community. Don was an instructor of advertising at the Univ. of Houston's School of Communications, and had a close rapport with his students. He enjoyed gourmet cooking, the symphony, and opera, and was an active member of Business Volunteers for the Arts.

Don is survived by his widow, Lainie; daughter Samantha; parents, Betty and Abe Gordon; and sisters Karen and Gayle. The Class extends deepest sympathy to each of them. We will miss this kind, generous person.
