Mac died Aug. 27, 2010, in Hazleton (Pa.) General Hospital.  

At Princeton, he majored in mechanical engineering, joined Cannon Club, and played football and lacrosse. His senior roommates were Dave Savage, Bob Zimmerman, and Hugh Cannon.

Mac had a varied business career in plastic molding, computer printers, meat processing, and engineering consultancy. The first 25 years of his career were devoted to the field of fire suppression and related areas. He later was a self-employed solar engineer.

Mac enjoyed golf and was an avid historian. He also liked to tinker around his home and invent useful items.  

The class sends its sympathy to his life companion, Suzanne; his children, Lisa, Scott, and Linda; and his grandchildren, Ian, Graham, Katherine, and John.
