Donald C. Foote ’49

Body

Don died July 20, 2018, in Hilton Head, S.C., his home following his retirement. He is survived by his wife, Judy; and his four children, Brad, Donny, Jeff, and Nancy.

Don came to Princeton from Phillips Exeter Academy in 1945. He lived in Little Hall, but withdrew from Princeton without declaring a major. He then went to work in New York as a media buyer for Young & Rubicam and lived in Peekskill, Dobbs Ferry, and Red Hook, N.Y. In the 1970s he moved to California to join the DBC Advertising Agency as senior media buying consultant.

We had little contact with Don over the years, but in our 50th-reunion yearbook To 1999 and Beyond he wrote to tell us that he was “semi-retired but still active” as a media consultant. His major hobby was tournament bridge, “where I’ve accumulated 2,200 Master points” — no mean feat.

Our sympathy and condolences go to Don’s wife and children, all of whom survived him.
