Donald H. Gordon ’46

Donald Gordon died March 28, 2011, at his home in Honolulu, Hawaii.  

Born in Brookline, Mass., he attended high school there. Entering Princeton in June 1942, he majored in classics. After graduating in 1946, he went on to earn bachelor of laws and master of laws degrees from Harvard Law School. After practicing law in Boston, he went on to become a tax professor at Wayne State University Law School in Detroit, later serving as dean (1975-1980). He also taught at State University in Utrecht, the Netherlands.

Don was a founding professor at the University of Hawaii Richardson School of Law in 1975. After retirement from Wayne State in 1990, he returned to live in Honolulu. There, he founded the Law Library Microfilm Consortium of Windward Community College in Kaneohe.  

Irene, Don’s wife of 33 years; their daughter, Katherine; and a stepson, Stephen F. Greaves, survive. Sincere condolences go to the family from our class.
