A. Douglas Hannah ’30

Body

DOUG, A STALWART PILLAR of the class, died at his home in Pittsburgh June 23, 1994. He was former president of the H.Y.P. Club in Pittsburgh, a member of the Princeton Alumni Assn. of Western Pennsylvania, and served as class president from 1965-70. He and his lovely wife, Peggy, were almost constant attendees at all class functions until Peggy's death in January.

He prepared at Schenley H.S. in Pittsburgh. At Princeton, he was active in a variety of athletic and managerial roles, served as chairman of the class memorial committee, and was a member of Tower. He started his engineering career with U.S. Steel and spent four years with the War Production Board. Until he retired in 1974, he was involved in banking and the Hillman Co. in Pittsburgh.

He was intensely involved in a variety of civic and philanthropic activities in the Pittsburgh area. Doug and Peggy had three children: a son D. Patton, and daughters Katherine Serrick and Annette Dunkelman. There are three grandchildren, Edward R. Serrick II, Douglas T. Serrick, and Karl D. Dunkelman. The class extends its sympathy to his family.
