RETIRED INSURANCE EXECUTIVE Doug Schoenfeld died from cancer Jan. 2, 1994. Son of distinguished U.S. diplomat H. F. Arthur Schoenfeld, Doug grew up in Washington, O.C., and in numerous European and South American capital cities. He prepared at St. Alban's School. At Princeton, he played soccer, wrote for the Princetonian, roomed with Bob McBride, earned an R.O.T.C. commission, and majored in politics.

After WWII service as an artillery officer in Europe, where he won the Bronze Star and four battle stars, Doug entered the insurance arena in 1948. He worked with Connecticut Security Life, Life Insurance of North America, Equitable Life, and in 1972 he joined Kentucky Central as its executive v.p. and settled in Lexington, Ky. Over the years, his work involved frequent travel throughout the U.S. In retirement, he and wife Frances divided their time between Lexington and Scottsdale, Ariz. Tennis, travel, and music were prominent among Doug's leisure interests.

The deep sympathy of the class goes out to Frances, son Douglas Jr., daughters Ann and Jane, and six grandchildren.
