Doug McClure died Dec. 17, 2012.

Doug entered Princeton from The Hill School and joined Cap and Gown. His Princeton studies were interrupted for service with the OSS in Italy and Austria. Returning to Princeton, he earned a bachelor’s degree in economics cum laude in 1947.

Doug joined Ford Motor Co. in Detroit, where he spent his entire career, retiring in 1989 as executive director of marketing. Following his retirement, he was appointed chairman of the board of trustees of the Henry Ford Health System, serving from 1989 to 1995, when he was named an honorary trustee.

Doug served on a number of professional and community boards, including The Hill School, the University Liggett School, the Michigan Cancer Foundation, the Association of National Advertisers, and the Ad Council and Adcraft Club of Detroit.

In 1951 Doug married Marjorie Oberteuffer, who survives him along with sons Douglas Jr. and Peter ’87; daughter Julie Chandler; and seven grandchildren. The class expresses its sympathy to the family.
