Surrounded by family, Drew died Aug. 18, 2010.

A native of Paterson, N.J., he prepared at La Salle Academy. A history major, Drew was business manager of Triangle and ate at Colonial. After receiving a law degree from the University of Colorado and practicing privately in Santa Fe, he entered government service in Denver.

Arriving in Washington in 1980, he was counsel to the Senate on the Three Mile Island investigation and joined the Department of Justice as an adviser in Mexico City. In the District of Columbia, he worked in the criminal division and as director of the department’s Office of International Programs. His last post was in Brussels.
