Ned died Sept. 25, 2018, at the Kanas Center for Hospice in Quiogue, N.Y.

Born in Brooklyn, he came to Princeton from Tabor Academy in Massachusetts. At Princeton he majored in biology and took his meals at Court Club.

Following Princeton, Ned earned a master’s degree in teaching at Harvard and embarked on a teaching career of more than 50 years. For 32 years he taught math and biology at Spring Valley High School in Spring Valley, N.Y., followed by retirement and substitute teaching at Pierson High School in Sag Harbor, where he was a long-time resident before moving to Peconic Landing.

Ned was predeceased by his brother John ’57. He is survived by his brother James ’65, eight nieces and nephews, and 23 grandnieces and grandnephews.
