WE HAVE BEEN INFORMED by Edmund Burke's daughter Nancy Burke Ross that her father died in the Amherst Presbyterian Nursing Center in Williamsville, N..H., on May 13, 1993.

Ed was born in N.Y.C. He prepared at Townsend Harris Hall. He received his LL.B. from Harvard in 1929. He was a partner in the law firm of Clark, Carr & Ellis in N.Y.C; an S.E.C. commissioner; and, from 1954 until his retirement in 1970, an attorney for Texaco.

He is survived by his sons, Edmund, Joseph, and Gregory; his daughters, Nancy Ross and Sally Grew; and by his cousins Edmund '41, Hamilton '55, John '58, and E. Burke Jr. '73. To them we extend our sympathy.
