Edward B. Bamman Jr. ’42

Body

Ed died Apr. 9, 1995, at Penn Hospital in Philadelphia. Having devoted his entire career to education, he retired from the chairmanship of the science department of Hun School.

Ed grew up in Princeton and attended high school there. At Princeton he majored in chemistry and spent several months in the Army during the war. He entered the educational field as a science instructor at De Veaux School in Niagara Falls, N.Y. After 12 years, he transferred to Hun, becoming chairman of the science department. At the time of his retirement, he was honored for his long and distinguished years of service.

A dedicated Princetonian, Ed was a great lover of the performing arts and a faithful supporter of the Friends of Princeton Music and the Chamber Symphony of Princeton. His retirement from Hun enabled him to pursue a previously unrealized interest in gardening. His extensive plantings of roses and other annuals have been left to the care of his sister, Barbara, who survives him. To her the class offers its deepest sympathies.
