Edward C. Trimble ’40

Body

Ted Trimble died in Stuart, Fla., Mar. 12, 1995. A fervent admirer of our classmate wrote the following inspiring tribute: "Here was a man who shared his blessings with incredible generosity. Here was a man who encouraged others to do the same through his example. Here was a man who touched the lives of hundreds, if not thousands, of less fortunate citizens in Martin County through his goodness.

Ted prepared at Kent School. He majored in politics, flew in the C.A.A. program, and was a Colonial Club manager. His R.O.T.C. commission led to a fine combat record in numerous European campaigns in WWII. He engaged in many successful manufacturing ventures in the Rochester area and in a variety of charitable and community undertakings. In Stuart, he continued his dedicated commitment to his community, served on the Red Cross board, was vice-chairman of the Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties, and, with wife Bobbie, established the Briggs-Trimble Family Charitable Fund of the Community Foundation.

Ted is survived by his widow, Bobbie; a daughter; two sons; five grandchildren; and three step-grandchildren. With them, we staunchly uphold the dosing words of Ted's aforementioned admirer: "Rest in peace dear friend — your legacy of love and compassion will outlive us all."
