Ed, a classmate who tried to get to each affair and truly enjoyed seeing his old classmates once again, died Sept. 19, 2011, in Haddonfield, N.J. He was 94.

He prepared at Mercersburg Academy and Haddonfield High School. At Princeton, he majored in economics, graduating with honors. He was a member of Tower Club.

During World War II he served in the Army in the American theater from 1942 to 1946 as a first lieutenant.

Ed spent 27 years as an investment banker with Smith Barney & Co. in Philadelphia.

He served on the Haddonfield zoning and planning boards; was a deacon, trustee, and former member at the First Presbyterian Church of Haddonfield; was a member and former vice president of the Haddonfield Historical Society, and had been Haddon-
field’s commissioner of public finance. Additionally, Ed served as a trustee of the Southern Vermont Arts Center; was a member of the Union League of Philadelphia and the Ekwanok, Tavistock, Seaview and Tubac country clubs; and was commodore of the Dorset Yacht Club. Ed was active in alumni affairs.

Predeceased by his wife, Ruth (Loud), he is survived by his children, Patricia (Ross) and Edwin Jr.; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. His classmates extend their sympathies to them all.
