ELBERT LES HOFFMAN, associate professor emeritus of psychology at Tulane Univ., died Feb. 8, 1994, of liver failure. Born in Oklahoma City, Elbert lived in New Orleans for 44 of his 68 years. He earned his undergraduate and master's degrees at the Univ. of Oklahoma, then came to Princeton to study psychometrics. He was also an army veteran.

In addition to his academic career, he devoted substantial time to work as a consultant with the N.A.A.C.P. legal defense and educational fund. His surviving family include a son, David; a sister, Nellie; and three grandchildren. We extend our sincere sympathies to his dear ones.
