Elias Wolf ’20
ELIAS WOLF of, Chestnut Hill, Penn., died Nov. 12, 1991.
He was born in Wyncote and was a graduate of the Delancey School and Episcopal Academy, He served in the Army during WWI.
After the war, he joined the family business, National metal Edge Box Company, which later became Logistics Industries, and ran it until he retired.
He would have been married 60 years in January to his widow, Frances, who said "there was never a cross word between us."
Eli began to take part in community activities in 1920 when he took over leadership of a boys'club and wound up joining the board of Big Brother, Inc.
He was a former V.P. of the Health and Welfare Court Council and a board member of the Tinicum Wildlife Preserve, the World Affairs Council, Friends of the Wissahickon School, and the Chestnut Hill Community Assn.
He retired at age 56. During the 1960's Eli was co-hairman of the Greater Philadelphia Movement. In 1971 he accepted the presidency of the Academy of Music.
Besides his widow, Frances Ehrlich Wolf, he is survived by his daughter Betsy Stephens; his son Louis; five grandchildren, and one greatgrandson. To each of them, the Class extends its deep sympathy.
