Ric died Aug. 17, 2021, of natural causes.

He prepared at The Hill School, where he was active in football, baseball, and student government. At Princeton he majored in politics and wrote his senior thesis on “Immigration Policy, 1946-1952.” He joined Cottage Club, participated in Theatre Intime and freshman baseball, and lettered in tennis and 150-pound football.

Ric’s working career included administration with the Minute Maid Corp.; sales with Connecticut General Life Insurance Co., New England Mutual Life Insurance, and the Univac division of Sperry Rand; and investment advice with Raymond James Financial Services and Excel Securities.

He married Eleanor Scoran in 1961, and they had two sons, Eric and Jeff. He lived most of his life in Rochester, N.Y., and enjoyed happy summers on Cape Cod.

A devoted supporter of Princeton football and one of the class’s most dedicated members, (elected “biggest dealer” in the Senior Class Poll), Ric served on the Class Day Committee, was vice president of the class from 1964 to 1969, and was class secretary from 2005 to 2009. A Reunions enthusiast from his undergraduate days when he served as a student crew manager, he chaired or co-chaired three major reunions for the class — the 35th, 50th, and 60th — for which he was awarded membership in the Society of the Claw.

He is survived by sons Eric and Jeff and two grandchildren, Ethan and Abby.
