Eric R. Braun ’34

Body

ERIC BRAUN, formerly director of operational services at Merck & Co.'s chemical division in Rahway, N.J., died Jan. 9, 1994. At Merck, his responsibilities covered engineering, purchasing, and traffic activities,

Prior to joining Merck in 1938, Eric was in the cokeoven department of Bethlehem Steel, After Merck, he spent 10 years with, as he put it, "a variety of other companies." These included a smallbusiness partnership, Consolidated Ceramics, in Lebanon, NJ., where he served as executive V.P., and a machine shop, Woodroe Co., in Latrobe, Penn., where he was the president. He retired in 1974 to Irvington, Va.

In retirement, Eric found the resort Tides Inn, its golf facilities, fishing, and the weather very much to his liking,

He leaves his wife of 59 years, Mary Ann (Ennis), who accompanied him to our Williamsburg mini-reunion in 1986; two daughters, Judith Foose and Barbara Morgan; two sons, Eric Jr. and Robert; and 12 grandchildren. To them, we offer our sincere sympathies.
