EVERETT GOLDBERG DIED Feb. 4, 1994, of cancer. At Princeton, Ev was a member of Cloister Inn. He graduated from Harvard Law School and had been a professor of law and the Univ. of Maryland Law School since 1967.

At the university, he specialized in developing laws and regulations for cable TV. He also served as associate dean of the law school from 1975-85 and was in charge of a number of administrative projects.

During a stint in the Peace Corps, from 1963-65, he was legal advisor to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. In 1964, Ev married Patricia Traeger while there and they enjoyed an African honeymoon. He was visiting scholar at Kings College and the faculty of law at Cambridge Univ. in England in 1981.        

A dedicated teacher, Ev was a relaxed, witty man who took personal interest in his students. During his bout with cancer, he received great encouragement from the support of students and former students, colleagues, and friends. Ev was also a keen tennis player and cyclist, who completed a "century," a 100-mile bicycling event, at age 50.       

In addition to his widow, he is survived by two children, Jennifer and Douglas; and a brother, Daniel. Memorial contributions may be sent to the Johns Hopkins Oncology Center in Baltimore. The class extends its sympathy to Ev's family.
