Francis Cantrell Trimble Jr. ’52
AFTER A TWOANDAHALFYEAR BATTLE with lung cancer, Frank Trimble died peacefully in his wife 's arms Aug. 5, 1991, leaving countless blessings to soften his absence. His funeral was in the same Episcopal parish in Newport, R.I., where he and June had been married. June wrote of Frank: "To laugh often and love much, to win the affection of children, to endure the betrayal of false friends, to find the best in others, to give of oneself, to leave the world a little better, whether by a healthy child, a garden, or to know that even one life has breathed easier, to have played, loved, and laughed with exultation, and to have a faith and serenity that one's time on this earth was not in vain this is to have succeeded. Such was the life of Franklin C. Trimble Jr."
At Princeton Frank belonged to Charter Club, majored in politics, and was active in the Chapel Choir, Skeet Club, and the TIGER. After graduation he spent 25 years in investment management, and then founded his own communications consulting firm in 1977.
Frank and June established a lung cancer research foundation at the University Hospitals of Cleveland. In addition to June, he is survived by their daughters Lisa, Susan, and Allison '87, and two grandchildren. We extend them our deepest sympathies.
