Francis Grillet Harrison ’40

Body

ON MAY 8, 1992, retired urologist Fran Harrison died at his Bryn Mawr, Penn., home. He came to Princeton from Lower Merion H.S., but left at the end of sophomore year and went on to graduate from Franklin and Marshall College, followed by a medical degree from Syracuse Univ. He served as a captain in the Army Air Corps in WWII.

Subsequently Fran studied at the Univ. of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and completed his training at Philadelphia's Presbyterian Hospital. The early years of his medical practice were devoted to operating a private urological clinic in Center City, and then for 15 years he was chief of urology at Presbyterian. During this period Fran contributed many articles on urology to medical publications and journals. In later years he became medical director of Inglis House, a wheelchair community, until retirement in 1989.

Although the Class had little direct contact with Fran, he did keep in touch with informative accounts for our Class yearbooks. He leaves his widow, Jean; two daughters and two sons; and 15 grandchildren. To the entire Harrison family we convey our condolences at the loss of Fran.
