Francis Kingsland De Beixedon ’36

Body

AT 77, FRANCIS died suddenly Apr. 15, 1992, in Mazatlan, Mexico.

He prepared at the Stony Brook School. At Princeton he majored in philosophy, was on the fencing team, and was a member of Terrace Club.

A native of Brooklyn, he moved to Reno, Nev., in 1949. There he owned and operated retail stores, sold automobiles, and then became a realtor. He and his wife, Eva, spent most of the last 15 years living in Mexico. During WWII he served as a glider pilot.

He was a member of the Prospectors Club, the National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution, and the Society of Colonial Wars. He was interested in Aztec and Mayan ruins and was knowledgeable on Central American and Asian art. His hobbies were swimming and travel.

Francis is survived by Eva, his wife of 31 years; stepsons Michael and Dean Yount; son Edward K.; daughters Michelle Hart, Demaris de Beixedon Price, and Dianne de Beixedon King; and six grandchildren.

We indeed regret that we did not see much of Francis in his latter years. He will be remembered.
