Body

Francis, known also as "Fi," died May 6, 1989. At Princeton, he was a member of Cottage Club and the Princeton Club of Philadelphia.

In serving as a lt.-col. in the Marine Corps, he followed a proud family tradition of service as officers in the military, which dated back from the Revolutionary War. He took part in WWII in the campaigns of Guadalcanal and Iwo Jima.

After the war, he rejoined Brooke and Co., the stock brokerage firm founded by his father, Francis Brooke. He rose to be a senior partner and distinguished himself in the securities business in Philadelphia. On a national basis, he served on the board of governors of the Natl. Assn. of Security Dealers, was on its Natl. Business Conduct Committee, and was cochair of its District 12. He was also pres. of the Philadelphia Securities Assn. and was chair of the education committee of the Investment Banker's Assn., Eastern Pennsylvania Group. He also served several other organizations too numerous to mention.

Francis is survived by sons Peter and Mark, a sister, Anita Brooke McMullin, and a granddaughter, Marion Brooke '92.
