Frank McGinity died from complications of emphysema and pneumonia Aug. 31, 1994, at Carleton Willard Village, a retirement community in Bedford, Mass.

Frank prepared for Princeton at Columbia H.S. in South Orange, N.J., where he was president of his class and lettered in track. At Princeton, he majored in Latin and Greek literature, lettered in cross-country, and was a member of Dial Lodge.

After graduation and marriage to Catherine M. Whcrlihan, Frank was commissioned in the Army Air Corps and during WWII, he earned the Air Medal with four clusters as command pilot in medium, heavy, and very heavy bombers. He had two assignments overseas; including operations officer for the 40th Bomb Group, which flew B-29's from bases in India, China, and the Marianas. He resigned his commission as a colonel in 1947.

Frank then taught Latin and Spanish at Livingston (N.J.) H.S., where he headed the language department. He was active in service organizations, Little League baseball, and drama groups in Livingston and Short Hills. After he and Catherine retired from teaching, they moved to Cotuit on Cape Cod in 1984.

In addition to Catherine, Frank is survived by Frank Jr. '61, Richard '66, Ellen A. Thomas, John, and six grandchildren.
