Frank T. Black ’55
Frank died of cancer in his home on July 15, 1990. Frank was survived by his widow Cynthia; sons Thomas, Andrew, and Daryl; daughters Elizabeth, Megan, and Jennifer; and parents Roger A. and Elizabeth Black.
Frank, a native of Mansfield, Ohio, prepared at Choate. At Princeton, he majored in English and was an active and popular member of Cloister Inn. After graduation, he earned a master's in English and education and returned to Mansfield, where he taught for six years. In 1963, Frank left teaching to develop the Clear Fork Ski Resort in Butler, Ohio. Soon after, he entered law school at Ohio State, where he got his degree in 1969.
He joined the firm of Baker and Hostelter and became a partner in charge of the Orlando office from 1980-86, after which he returned to the Ohio office. Frank's special expertise was international law, with specialties in business, corporate, and securities law. He served as director of legal services for the firm.
We remember Frank as a man who combined a serious vein with high spirits. His career changes were no surprise to those who knew the undergraduate who was always willing to try something new. Many will remember Frank at our 30th reunion as one whose enthusiasm was undiminished.
We send loving sympathy to Cynthia and the family.
