Franklin P. Jones ’57

Body

During his Princeton years he majored in history and joined Tiger Inn. His senior roommates were Rick Weiss, Tim O’Leary, John Thomas, and Pete Kohler. He was active in WPRW, 21 Club, Campus Fund Drive, and the Bicker Committee.

After graduation, Frank served three years in the Navy that included three Far East cruises. He loved his Navy days. He then attended law school at UC Berkeley, and clerked for the chief judge of the ninth circuit.

He married his love, Nancy, in 1966. They moved to the Fresno area for its access to the wilderness and fishing. He worked at the law firm of Andrews & Andrews for 26 years. In 1991 he was appointed to the California Superior Court, the pinnacle of his professional career.

Frank is survived by Nancy; their children, Caroline, Sarah, and Kendall; and grandchildren Andrew and Matthew. His family was his greatest love and he enjoyed the outdoors, especially fly-fishing, with them, and lively talks about politics and history over good food and wine. The class sends its deep sympathy to his family. We will miss him.
