Fred L. Main Jr. ’46

Body

Fred passed away on Oct 31,1988, at his home in Panama City, Fla.

He was a native of Montclair, NJ., and prepped for Princeton at the Morristown School for Boys. At Princeton, he was a member of Colonial Club. His loyalty to his country caused him to leave Princeton prior to graduation to enter the Army, in which he served under Gen. George S. Patton. After the war, he returned to Princeton to finish his degree. He spent his entire career as a dedicated insurance man, setting up his own Northwest Florida Insurance Agency in Panama City.

Fred married Anita Snyder on Oct. 15, 1949. They had three sons: Michael M. (who died in 1968), Patrick T. (of Atlanta), and Fred N. (of Atlanta). He is also survived by a sister, Barbara Cooper, of Norwalk, Conn., and a grandson, Jared Main, of Atlanta. His dedicated friendship touched many lives at Princeton and in the business world. He will be greatly missed by all of us.
