Frederic Grater Burk Jr. ’42

Body

Fred died in Philadelphia on Feb. 24, 1988, but we did not receive word of it until recently. At the time of his death, he was retired from the book-publishing industry, in which he had spent his entire career. He started with Westminster Press, the publishing arm of the Presbyte¬rian Church. He then worked with J. B. Lippincott for ten years, after which he was asked to join Oxmoor House, a new book publisher in Birmingham, Ala.

Fred grew up in Philadelphia and came to Princeton from Penn Charter. He majored in English and was a member of Campus Club. His father, Frederic Sr. '12, and his brother, John McK. '46 (both deceased), at¬tended Princeton.

To his widow, Patricia, his mother, and the rest of his family the class extends its most sincere sympathies.
