Frederick Heath Bowman Jr. ’31

HEATH DIED Jan. 17, 1993, in Rome, Italy, where he had lived since retirement from the Foreign Service in 1969. He prepared at Columbus Academy and North Shore Country Day School. While at Princeton, he was a member of Key and Seal Club. Before joining the Foreign Service, Heath published six books, two of which were illustrated by classmate Stirling Dickinson. He served in the navy during WWII and was discharged as a lieutenant. As a Foreign Service officer, he served in Chile ' Rome, Paris, Yugoslavia, and India. In his spare time, Heath was a photographer, and his photographs and diaries will be donated to Princeton University. The Class sends its sincere condolences to his widow, Mercedes.
