Gene Marshall Phillips ’55

Body

Gene Phillips, professor emeritus of pediatrics at Stanford University Medical Center, died Nov. 28, 2009, in Palo Alto, Calif.

Gene came to us from Middletown, Ohio, majored in philosophy, was a member of Dial, and contributed his considerable talents to various University musical organizations.

The hallmarks of Gene’s character were his unending love for life and his family, his work-of-art garden and house, and the exemplary care he provided to his patients. His love of music sustained Gene through life’s journey, as evidenced in the entry in our 1955 at 50 book.

Gene is survived by his wife, Becky, and son, Tom. To them, his colleagues, and his friends, the class extends deepest sympathy.
