George E. O’Toole ’45

Body

GEORGE O'TOOLE DIED in Walnut Creek, Calif., of complications due to Alzheimer’s disease. He had resided in the West for many years after leaving his hometown of Wilmington, Del., living for several years in Ventura, Calif., then Lake Oswego, Oreg., and then Walnut Creek.

George married Jean Bacchus and they had five children. He worked in real estate in Wilmington after serving in the army Air Transportation Service during WWII. He worked for General Foods during the early Sixties, when it was consolidating several plants in Dover, Del. He helped relocate employees. He then moved west to work with G.H. Bass as a sales representative. George eventually joined Clarks of England, Inc., and remained with them until he retired in 1988.

George is survived by his widow; by three daughters, Eugenia Christoff, Susan Hershey, and Mary Vitamanti; by two sons, Thomas and George; by several grandchildren; and by two sisters, Mary Etchells and Anne Page. The class extends its sympathy to the family.
