George Edward Zirk ’44

Body

Jud died Nov. 15, 2008, according to a very brief notice from the Obituary Registry, which only listed his last residence as Kearny, N.J. We have been unable to reach family members or find any other source of information. His roommate at Princeton was Al Parker, who died March 1, 2009, and whose memorial also appears on this page.

Jud was born in Carlstadt, N.J., and prepped at the Hun School. At Princeton, he majored in geology, won numerals in baseball, and was a member of Cannon Club. He earned his degree in 1944, married the former Doris Lennon, served several months in the Pacific, and then held management positions with Colgate -Palmolive and Bristol-Myers in Latin America and New York. He and his wife had four daughters, including twins, by 1955. In our 60th-reunion directory, he listed only a business address and phone. The phone is disconnected.

To Jud’s surviving family and friends, we offer sincere condolences for a classmate who alphabetically ended our various directories, but was smack in the middle of our hearts.
