Body

GEORCE McG. FRYBERGER, former president and chairman of the board of The First Natl. Bank of Philipsburg, died of a stroke Sept. 14, 1993, in the Sanibel Health Park, Fla., where he was recovering from a broken hip. He was 90 years old.

Born in Philipsburg, he survived childhood polio and graduated from Choate in 1924. He served as second It. in the army artillery. He married Nancy Evans Norton of Rosemont, Penn., in June 1928.

George was loving, caring, and close to his immediate and extended family. Never indulgent regarding his own needs, he was constructively generous to his family and others. He enjoyed piloting small aircraft and delighted in thoughtful discussion, Music, art, mechanical invention, and travel.

He is survived by his companion, Elinor McGirk; his sister Alice Millholland and her husband, his lifelong friend, Paul Millholland '28; children Joan Strehler, Ann Cogswell, and Dick Fryberger; their spouses; and 21 nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and greatgrandchildren.
