George Rose ’22

THE CLASS reports that Mr. George Rose died peacefully Apr. 2, 1991, after a winter of declining health, in Indianapolis. He is survived by his widow, Ernistine Bradford Rose; his son and daughterinlaw, Dr, George B. and Dr. Helen N. Rose; and a grandchild, Elizabeth Rose,

George was born in Washington, D.C., in Sept. 1900. After Princeton, he received a law degree from the Univ. of Pennsylvania, returned to Washington as a private attorney, and later practiced with the N.L.R.B. George moved to Indianapolis, following in the footsteps of his family who had been early pioneers. He practiced there for over 40 years, specializing in labor and constitutional law. He wrote many articles and a book about labor relations.

Church, civic activities, and the Boy Scouts of America kept him very involved in the community. He was a Presbyterian deacon, Sunday school leader, and elder at the Second Presbyterian Church in Indianapolis.
