GEORGE W. CREIGHTON DIED in Baltimore Mar. 17, 1993, of multiple sclerosis, which set in shortly after be left Princeton in his sophomore year. George prepared at Gilman School, where he excelled in lacrosse and was a member of the allMaryland team of 1937. The son of a graduate of the Class of 1911, it was fitting that George lived at 2 Dickinson St., the 1911 House.

A member of the Maryland Nail. Guard, his unit was called to artillery duty early in WWII. He later won the Silver Star for exceptional braveryhe saved a comrade under fire while serving with the Rainbow Division in Europe.

Although increasingly hampered by advancing ill health, George was a valuable member of the sales department of the Koppers Corp. for many years. George is survived by his widow, Joan Wilcox Creighton; two daughters, Mary Colt Navins and Jill C. McNamara; a sister, Margaret Hooker; and five grandchildren.
